JJ Reviews : John Wick Chapter 4

It isn't very often that a movie franchise releases 4 really good movies. It's even more rare that the latest entry in the franchise is the best one made. John Wick 4 is that movie though. Not only the best movie of the series but one of the best action movies of all time.

The John Wick series has come a long way since the first one in 2014. Each movie has upped the ante and scale in almost 10 years as a franchise. Carried by the duo of star Keanu Reeves and Director Chad Stahelski, Chapter 4 delivers everything fans have come to expect with one of the most indestructible action movie characters in recent movie history.

John Wick Chapter 4 is the longest of the series so far but in my opinion not a single moment was wasted and the 2 hour and 49 minute runtime blew by. The movie contains 2(!!!) 30 minute long action sequences that had me on the edge of my seat. Without getting into spoilers the sequences that take place in Osaka and Paris is some of the best fight scenes I've ever seen on the big screen.

I've always had a ton of respect for Keanu Reeves. He has always come across as one of the nicest people working in hollywood. In a time when movie stars and musicians are being revealed to be horrible people, stories about Keanu have always been consistently told of how generous and kind he is. With that alone, I'm happy to see him have so much success late into his career. Knowing how much he has trained to perform all the stunts and fight scenes in this franchise is nothing short of impressive. John Wick Chapter 4 is a showcase of endurance for the star who at 58 years old puts a lot of his younger action stars to shame since most action movies these days rely heavily on CGI.

I also have a lot of praise for director Chad Stahelski. The camera work under his direction in these movies and in particular this one is incredible. The color pallette use in John Wick Chapter 4 looks stunning and beautiful. Stahelski has only gotten better and better with each passing movie. He clearly has a great eye for this genre of movie and I think his background as a stuntman/coordinator is his biggest advantage as a director. Chad has been confirmed to be developing a Ghost Of Tsushima movie for Sony and based on the Osaka sequence in this movie, I Cannot wait to see what he comes up with for that.

I don't wanna spoil anything for anyone so I'll end the review here but i really can't stress enough to everyone to go see this movie on the biggest screen possible.
